It's an urgent question — what do we do with the 40 million tons of plastic waste we produce annually? One year of plastic waste is roughly enough to smother the entirety of Manhattan a meter deep, and it has to go somewhere. For decades, America sent its plastic waste to countries like China and Indonesia. Unlike aluminum or glass, the plastic that can be recycled rarely results in replacing one recycled water bottle with another. By downcycling a tiny portion of plastic waste, companies can genuinely reuse a relatively small share of plastic, while convincing consumers that the industry has created a circular economy of infinitely recycled plastic.

But Wall Street sees a rally in Ulta's future, with the average price target suggesting 23% upside for the stock over the next year, according to FactSet. Slightly less than half of analysts rate the stock a buy. Health-care stock HCA is favored more, with about two-thirds of analysts recommending it as a buy. Nearly seven out of every 10 analysts rate the stock a buy, with an average price target implying shares could rise nearly 9%, according to FactSet. The consensus price target among analysts has IBM gaining less than 1% over the next year, while Packaging Corp. could tumble nearly 8%.

For us, that's P & G because their products hold a higher priority when it comes to how consumers spend their money. Now, containerboard — P & G products ship in boxes after all — is seeing a large glut. Just last week at the Barclays Global Consumer Staples Conference, P & G management said they see some "good news on commodity input costs, sequentially. Management also noted that as of now, they are still seeing no real signs of trade-down in P & G products to cheaper alternatives. The price in the store will be more sticky than the price P & G pays for logistics or the prices they are able to negotiate with suppliers.
